Posted: 28 Aug 2012 08:53 PM PDT

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has been fined Rs 200 for smoking in public by the district court.

The 29-year-old actor was accused of violating the Rajasthan Prevention of Smoking Act after a local daily published images of Ranbir smoking on May 28, while shooting for 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani' with Deepika Padukone here.

Harish Vaishnav had lodged a complaint at a local court in Udaipur, following which Ranbir was summoned on June 26.

Since the summon could not be delivered to him by the date, the court fixed July 26 for his appearance, on which day his lawyer KK Purohit appeared and said that Ranbir did smoke in public but it was part of the film.

He also said that the act will not be repeated.

According to the Rajasthan Prevention of Smoking Act, a person found guilty of smoking in public can be sentenced to a maximum imprisonment of six months or a fine of Rs 200. On Monday the court ordered Ranbir to pay the fine.

Purohit paid the fine amount in the absence of the actor.

Farah Khan shops for kids

Posted: 27 Aug 2012 06:50 AM PDT

Being a mother of three, a filmmaker, a choreographer par excellence, and now, even an actor, is not easy. But supermom Farah Khan manages it all with aplomb. She was recently spotted at Just For Kids store in a popular mall, shopping for her kids. In tow, were the aliens from her movie Joker, a sci-fi comedy. The aliens were an instant hit with the kids.

"I'm shopping clothes that my four-year-olds will wear to the premiere of my film," enthused Farah. "I love blues and reds and I believe blue is lucky for me as well." The green and brown aliens who accompanied Farah were a laugh riot. To pull a fast one on the kids, the aliens decided to hide in the trial room. While the kids screamed initially, they were more than happy to hug them and pose with them soon after.

The aliens also danced at the store with Farah and the kids. She was overheard telling other moms that Joker is a film that parents can watch with their children. "It's an entertaining movie with a great story. I want to tell the mothers that; because they are the most concerned," she was heard saying.

It weren't only the children shopping at the store, who were in for a treat, but also their mothers as Farah gave them tips on how to dress their kids up fashionably.

Sunny Leone hires tutors to brush up her Hindi and dancing skills

sunny leonne ragini mms 2
The much hyped 'Jism 2' failed to make a mark at the box-office and the film's failure is being attributed to Sunny's not-so-good acting apart from an average script. Not the one to repeat her mistakes, the pronstar-turned-actress has decided to work on her weak points to give an improved performance in her next venture' Ragini MMS 2'.
Sunny Leone has hired not one or two, but three tutors to teach her. She is learning Bollywood dance from dancer Shabina Khan and has two other tutors to brush up her Hindi speaking skills.
Apart from this, Leone made it a point to watch Ekta Kapoor's original 'Ragini MMS' and admitted that she got really scared by it.
Sunny's tweets confirm these reports. On Monday, she tweeted, "It's Monday and another week begins. This week I'm adding in Hindi lessons and watching a Hindi/Bollywood movies on top of my dance classes."
Sunny also declared that she currently has only one Bollywood project in hand and that is the sequel to Ragini MMS. She tweeted: "Any reports of me signing a film is not true!!!! you will always hear it from me first!!"

‘Ghanchakkar’ to be shot with guerrilla style of film making

Posted: 26 Aug 2012 11:36 AM PDT

Ghanchakkar
Rajkumar Gupta's forthcoming 'Ghanchakkar' needs to be shot in some busy locales of Mumbai, but acquiring permissions for shooting in these places involves a lot of financial pressure and long delays. So, the makers have decided to go for guerilla style of film making at various public locations in Mumbai. That is how Gupta had shot Rajeev Khandelwal in 'Aamir'.
As such, in the coming two months, the lead pair of the movie, Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan will shoot for the movie with a skeletal crew and hidden cameras. The idea is to land in without warning, wrap up the shoot and leave before the public is aware of their presence.
Gupta confirms the report saying, "After we finish shooting the initial spell in the studio we go on the streets to do some guerrilla filmmaking. It's risky, yes. And Vidya and Emraan are very popular faces for whom anonymity will be nearly impossible. But I've never made safe films. And my actors are game. So let's see how it goes."
Initially, the shooting was supposed to begin in September, and Gupta had to curb his desire to shoot the stars drenched in the monsoon rains, but now, the shooting has been preponed to August.
Gupta narrated, "I had originally planned an August schedule. And Vidya, who is at the moment doing no other film, was completely one with my film's schedule. But Emraan was busy promoting 'Raaz 3? in August as the film was supposed to release at the end of August.
But now I believe 'Raaz 3? has been pushed forward, so I got the window to shoot the scenes that I wanted. I guess I am just lucky…"
However, shooting with Rajeev was a different issue. It would be risky to shoot in such a way with Emraan and Vidya as they are quite popular faces.
"I agree. But both are used to shooting in the crowded outdoors. If Vidya could brave the Kolkata crowds in 'Kahaani' and the Delhi crowd in my film 'No One Killed Jessica', then Mumbai would be a cakewalk in comparison," says Gupta.
