Posted: 09 Dec 2011 10:55 AM PST

Veena Malik's nude pose on the covers of FHM has created stirs in the last few days. The actress claims that the images are fake and she has also sued the magazine claiming Rs. 10 crores for the damages.

However, there has been a role reversal it seems, as the magazine has now sent an 11-page reply to Veena's notice, rubbishing all her claims and even threatening a lawsuit of Rs. 25 crore.

In their notice, the magazine stated, "Your client permitted our clients for her photo as well as video shoots which were carried out by our clients with the consent and authority of your client. It would be pertinent to mention herein that your client pursued FHM magazine via photographer Vishal Saxena in October 2011 for a shoot. Your client wanted to do a sexy, bold and in-your-face shoot and to express intent for the same she also sent through Saxena pictures of her in bikinis etc, to show that she was in good shape for a shoot for FHM."

Threatening Veena Malik with a counter lawsuit, the notice said: "It is further stated that in the circumstances our clients are free to initiate legal proceedings including filing a criminal complaint against your client (Veena Malik) for offences under Indian Penal Code besides claiming general and special damages to the tune of Rs.25,00,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Crores Only) i.e. Rs.15,00,00,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Crore Only) to the client No. 1, Rs. 5,00,00,000/- (Rupees Five Crore Only) to client No. 2 and Rs. 5,00,00,000/- (Rupees Five Crore Only) to client No.3,) and will also take any other appropriate legal action entirely at your cost, risk and consequences."

Meanwhile, the actress' second cover, where she poses with a grenade in her hand and with ISI tattoo on her left hand, is out. ISI reference has already raised eyebrows in Pakistan. While they settle out who is cheating whom, you check out Veena's yet another spicy photo shoot for FHM………..

He has already locked lips with Aishwarya Rai, Barbara Mori and Katrina Kaif and going by the newly released stills from the forthcoming 'Agneepath', the actor seems to have shared some intimate scenes with Priyanka Chopra as well, which could include some smooching scenes too.

The images from the movie have Hrithik and Priyanka almost come within a whisker of locking lips. Whether things go a step ahead or not, will be clear only by the January end when Agneepath, produced by Karan Johar, will hit the theatres.

Here we have Priyanka Chopra from Agneepath and also on the cover of Vogue Magazine's Indian edition for the month of December 2011.

Mallika Sherawat to play a Haryanvi girl in her next flick

Posted: 09 Dec 2011 10:52 AM PST

Bollywood had been missing the Haryanvi sex kitten Mallika Sherawat who of late was spotted more at Hollywood parties than Bollywood ones. Now, Mallika is back to our tinsel town with her new flick Kismat Love Paisa Dilli (KLPD), to be directed by Sanjay Khanduri.

Mallika will be playing a feisty and outspoken bindaas Haryanvi girl in the flick which will be set in Delhi and its suburbs in Haryana. The movie revolves around the story of a Haryanvi girl meeting a Delhi boy and the story unravels over the course of just one night. Vivek Oberoi has been cast opposite Mallika as the male lead.

The film's producer Amit Chandrra thinks Mallika Sherawat is the perfect choice for the movie because of her Haryanvi background. "Mallika is the perfect choice because she comes from the Haryanvi-Punjabi milieu. So, she can easily carry off the typical attitude and the body language of a North Indian girl, besides the natural grasp over the lingo," says producer Amit Chandrra of Invincible Entertainment.

KLPD goes on floors later this month and will be shot extensively in Delhi around January-February. "We are going to shoot the film in a start-to-finish schedule," says Chandrra.

Sudhir Mishra: No problem with Chitrangda Singh

Posted: 06 Dec 2011 08:27 PM PST

Is Chitrangda Singh giving her mentor Sudhir Mishra sleepless nights?

If rumours are to be believed, she still has five days of shoot left for her next release, directed by Mishra. Sources close to the actress say she is mulling over not giving dates for Sudhir's film in order to delay it, till she signs another big banner film, or wait for the release of I Me Aur Main with John Abraham early next year.

She is not too keen on having Sudhir's film as her next release, says the source. Apparently, Sudhir was constantly in touch with his muse to get her sanction on wrapping the shoot while he was at IFFI in Goa recently. It is believed that Sudhir is on the edge because he has to finish and release this film in the first quarter of next year and move on to the epic love story Mehrunissa that may star Amitabh Bachchan.

Sources insist that Chitrangda is in a dilemma post her foray into commercial cinema with Desi Boyz, and also romancing an out and out commercial star like Akshay Kumar. The film may have evoked mixed reactions but her role of a sexy Economics professor has brought her into limelight. However, Sudhir completely denies these rumours. Instead, he says that he is very happy Chitrangda has made inroads in commercial films. "She wants me to finish my film fast and was happy to give me dates early this month, but I got busy with a documentary and we had to reschedule the shoot. She has already given us fresh dates this month and the project will get completed soon," says Sudhir.

Kareena Kapoor will not be a part of Ra.one sequel

Posted: 06 Dec 2011 08:23 PM PST

Contrary to reports that RA.One won't have a sequel, sources reveals that Shah Rukh Khan has already commissioned the project and a team of writers begins work on a script come February 2012.

While sources close to Anubhav Sinha deny he's making the sequel, buzz is that SRK is seeking a new actress in place of Kareena Kapoor because team Ra.One wasn't thrilled with the time she gave to promote the film. So will SRK be looking for a new director and heroine? Anybody wanna be his new Chammak Challo?

Review: The Dirty Picture is all about Balan and bravado

Posted: 06 Dec 2011 08:22 PM PST

Sukanya Verma feels The Dirty Picture just draws an outline of Silk's character instead of painting a layered portrait but Vidya Balan image makes it awe-inspiring with her performance.

Free Download_The Dirty Picture Movie[DVD]

As the unofficial biopic of a famously erotic personality from showbiz, it has to acknowledge the vastly sexual nature of its subject. At the same time, exploiting this very attribute to explicitly titillate could mar its credibility. And that's where director Milan Luthria pulls off a masterstroke. He picks one of the most exciting, exquisite and exceptional actresses from the present to portray one of the most raunchy, rebellious, raciest sex symbols of the past.

There's remarkable relish and abandon in the manner Vidya Balan essays Silk, inspired by Southern siren Silk Smitha and her part-flamboyant, part-distressing journey from struggler to star to shadow.

The world has never been kind to sex symbols. The very idea of objectifying one's self in an industry run by lust and power driven men invites disapproval. But The Dirty Picture, set in the garish, (mostly) absurd 1980s, neither cringes at her choices nor condemns her audacity. On the contrary, it celebrates cleavage-dominated, over-the-top flamboyance and treats Silk like an unsung star of the aforesaid era, who happened before her time but struggled to gain respectability for flaunting her sensuality and promiscuity in a way that didn't conform to social perception.

That she employs it at whim as a self-seeking device, however, is conveyed rather confusingly in the narrative. On one occasion, she whacks a salacious chap for suggesting the illicit but promptly becomes the 501th fling of a dissipated superstar (Naseeruddin Shah [ Images ]) to get a shot at stardom.

In spite of the most ridiculous get-ups, Shah is most effective in conveying the smug, randy tone of his narcissistic old-timer. Even when, make that, especially when, playing to the gallery with lines like: 'Jawani to taste karne ke liye hoti hai, Waste karne ke liye nahi' or tucking his tummy, only a tad embarrassed, after a bunch of photographers appeal, 'Sir, pet thoda andar.'

The other two men in Silk's life -- Tusshar Kapoor [ Images ] and Emraan Hashmi [ Images ] -- do not possess the insights of Shah and prove to be the dullest links of Rajat Arora's boisterous and cluttered script. If Tusshar's feeble presence cannot be manned up by a thick moustache, Emraan's progression in the story to accommodate a maudlin love song, leads to The Dirty Picture's most patchy, flimsy and prolonged third act. Silk's camaraderie with secondary characters -- Rajesh Sharma, as the supportive filmmaker and Anju Mahendru modeled around film journalist, Devyani Chaubal is much more fascinating.

And while Arora inundates the scenes with whistle-inducing dialogues typical to the bombastic decade, the screenplay lacks in purpose, subtext and detailed character development. The background behind Silk's strained relations with her mother or an out-of-context adolescent fan lusting after Silk are never truly established. Also grating is the moment when Silk launches a labored on-stage speech to lambast the double standards within the industry.

While on clamor, save for the superb usage of the rollicking Tamil ditty Nakka Mukka alongside Bappida's Ooh la la splendour, the background score goes about blaring senselessly without a cue.

As one appreciates Luthria's effort to authenticate the period by bringing in retro outfits, kitschy sets, vintage cameras, Maruti [ Get Quote ] 800s and Premiere Padminis, minute slip-ups go unnoticed. Like how two minutes after crying sore about people who speak 'shoo shaa English,' Vidya, herself, talks about India [ Images ] winning against West Indies [ Images ] at the World Cup in a diction, which makes it difficult to visualise her as, like the makers compel us to believe, down market.

The Dirty Picture, despite the comprehensive objectivity implied through its title, is not a full-fledged biopic. Instead of painting a layered portrait of Silk, it draws an outline of an unapologetic resident of a flesh-obsessed film industry responsible for her rise and ruin. But Vidya lends her so much transparency, aplomb and sauciness, the outcome is far more awe-inspiring than it deserves to be.

Whether she's cracking crude innuendos or bursting out of her tightly-fitted clothing to expose all those meticulously added calories, the actress, literally, puts her soul and body to embody Silk. In a world, where a majority of women obsess over a flat stomach above anything else, Vidya flaunts a protruding belly as though it didn't exist. Such commitment would impress anybody -- you, me. Tom Hanks [ Images ]?

In terms of creativity, it's a middling effort. But where bravado is concerned, The Dirty Picture kicks ass by virtue of three very strong reasons: Vidya Balan. Vidya Balan. Vidya Balan.
