Mom worried I'll get serial kisser tag: Ruslaan Mumtaz

Posted: 19 Apr 2013 10:37 AM PDT

He has kissed three different heroines in three films. No wonder actor Ruslaan Mumtaz's actress mother Anjana was worried that after Emraan Hashmi her son will get the "serial kisser" tag in Bollywood.

"My mother is worried, and she keeps telling me that 'no girl will marry you'. She feels I will create an image, a perception and will be called the next serial kisser. In three films, I have kissed three heroines already," Ruslaan told IANS.

In his debut film MP3 - Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar (2007), he locked lips with Hazel Crowney, while in Teree Sang (2009), he was seen getting intimate with Sheena Shahabadi. If that wasn't enough already, in his third film I Don't Luv U, he once again gets up close and personal with his co-star.

Releasing on May 17, the film will see him romancing debutant Chetna Pande. The story revolves around an MMS scandal, and how if affects the relationship of two youngsters.

Ruslaan says he pacifies his mother with the fact that "you can't choose your films based on whether or not it has a kissing scene".

"If I like a story, and it requires a kiss, it's okay. But I won't work with people who want to add a kiss to the story just like that," he said.

Moreover, the 29-year-old believes the Indian audience doesn't need theatres and films to watch explicit scenes.

"They have so many avenues where they can watch it all for free. There's internet, the phone...why would the audience pay Rs.300 for a ticket to watch intimacy in a film," said the actor.

Nevertheless, he is quite comfortable kissing in front of the camera.

"There's nothing personal about kissing for a film. There's no reaction to it. But when we were shooting for I Don't Luv U, Chetna was nervous. I told her, 'Just don't worry, and do it in one take'. That's the best way to do it. It gets uncomfortable when you have to do retakes and do it over and over again," said Ruslaan.

I Don't Luv U, directed by Amit Kasaria and presented by Amrapali Media Vision, is produced by Anil Kumar Sharma in association with Pallavi Mishra. The movie is said to be inspired by the 2004 MMS scandal involving two school going students.

Back in 2011, Ruslaan was himself embroiled in an MMS scandal, featuring the daughter of a veteran actress. He said he was "never involved" in it.

"My only connection with it was that a close friend of mine featured in it, and it is only a coincidence that I am featuring in a film around an MMS scandal," he said.

Deepika Padukone wants to shows off her svelte figure again

Posted: 19 Apr 2013 10:22 AM PDT

Conscious of the inches she has added to her girth, Deepika now wants to be served only the kind of food she had during her last film, where she looked her svelte best

Deepika Padukone, who is known for her washboard abs, sculpted derriere and well-toned pins, has been looking a bit more filled out than usual. At a recent IPL event, the leggy actress nearly spilled out of her figure-hugging dress and gave us a glimpse of what curiously looked like thunder thighs.

Was this new look mandated by her new films, one of which has a voluptuous southern connect? We wondered.

A source close to the actress said: "Maintaining an optimal weight and size is very crucial for Deepika who has been juggling three different kinds of roles in three of her upcoming films. She has to ensure that she fits into the costumes of Ram Leela that Anju Modi has designed for a schedule in Mumbai by the end of the month. But the fact that she has visibly added few inches to her girth has been brought up by her close friends as well."

In fact, Dippy reportedly has had a tough time managing her diet, exercise regime and her hectic schedule. A friend of the actress added, "It's been difficult for her, but she is aware of the extra inches she has added and is trying her best to keep it under check. She can't take chances with Bhansali, who can be quite exacting when it comes to continuity - remember how he fired Ranveer Singh for trimming his moustache?" Of course we do!

So what is Dippy doing? "Her assistant who is in charge of her diet chart has been told to get her the 'Cocktail' diet," says her friend.

Dippy' followers may recall the actress looked her svelte best in that film, dressed in chic threads that showed off her enviable bod. Dippy's Cocktail diet included small meals every two hours and quinoa, the wonder cereal from South America.

Incidentally, Dippy's pins have often been highlighted in her films, whether in hot pants or minis. Both in Ram Leela and Yeh Jawaani hai Deewani, she has scenes in denim shorts, which, according to her trainer, means she has to focus extra hard on keeping them in ship shape. Talk about getting a leg up.

Dippy's superlight Cocktail
Breakfast:
2 egg whites or upma or poha + one glass veggie juice
Two hours later: Fruits + Chana
Lunch: Proteins; usually fish and grilled vegetables, 1-3 roti + dal
Two hours later: A fruit or vegetable juice, or tea with biscuits
Dinner: Lean meat; grilled chicken or fish

The keenly awaited dance tune, 'Laila Teri Le Legi' featuring John Abraham, Tusshar and the sensational Sunny Leone, was recently under the Censor Board scanner. Complying with theThe Central Board of Film Certificate (CBFC), the makers have altered the lyrics to 'Laila Teri Loot Legi' in order to get the promo on air for television promotion.
Says director Sanjay Gupta,"The original version of the song had the lyrics, Laila Teri Le Legi. If we had to retain these words, the Censor Board would've given it an adult rating and we would not have been able to air the track on television during prime time. So we have changed the words to Laila Tujhe Loot Legi."
Adds Tanuj Garg,CEO Balaji Motion Pictures, "Various modifications had to be made in the promo at the behest of CBFC to get it aired on TV".
Balaji Motion Pictures and White Feather Films' 'Shootout At Wadala', directed by Sanjay Gupta, stars Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Kangana Ranaut, Manoj Bajpai, Tusshar, Sonu Sood, Mahesh Manjrekar, Ronit Roy & Siddhant Kapoor, with Priyanka Chopra, Sunny Leone and Sophie Choudry in special appearances.

The French government will specially invite actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for the Cannes Film Festival scheduled later this year which will also celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema, a senior diplomat has said.

Aishwarya was conferred upon a civilian award by the French government for her contribution to the arts on the occasion of her birthday last year.

Responding to a question, French Ambassador to India Francois Richier told reporters here yesterday that Aishwarya is always respected in France because of her association with the Cannes film festival.
"She is very dear to our heart and we are very grateful to her," said Richier, who had conferred the civilian award to the actress on behalf of the French government.
"The Cannes festival will have a special focus on Indian Cinema where we will invite Indian film stars," the Ambassador said, adding that Aishwarya would also be invited.
Aishwarya's French connection is a long one, right from the time she has been endorsing a French cosmetic brand, he said.
