Hrithik gives Shah Rukh’s firm a business of 26 crores

Posted: 11 Jan 2013 10:45 AM PST

Hrithik Roshan's 'Krrish-3' is completely dependent on special effects. In fact Rakesh Roshan has kept aside almost eight months to get the VFX right. While a portion of the VFX is being done overseas, the lion's share of visual effects has been entrusted by the Roshans to Shah Rukh Khan's company.

The trade estimates that the Roshans — Rakesh and Hrithik — have given SRK a total business of around 26 cr for it. And SRK who is very upto date when it comes to VFX is personally involved in making sure that his buddy's film gets the best VFX ever done in a Bollywood film.

An insider says, "The Roshans have put their money where their mouth is. Obviously, this is also proof of the fact that the personal bond between SRK and Duggu is stronger than ever."

Superstar Shahrukh Khan has set an example with his dedication to work — and he proved it once again after he worked for 28 hours at a stretch without taking a break.
The actor, who is the brand ambassador of Hyundai, shot for an advertisement for the car brand, and after wrapping it up, he went straight to rehearse for his performance for the forthcoming Colors Screen Awards. He practised till the wee hours of Thursday morning, said a source.
Following his rehearsals, the 47-year-old, who is also busy shooting for his production venture "Chennai Express", with director Rohit Shetty, spent three hours discussing strategies around the release of the movie.

Hrithik Roshan feels security justified on ‘Krrish 3′ sets

Posted: 11 Jan 2013 10:37 AM PST

Hrithik Roshan is shooting "Krrish 3″ amid tight security and feels it is totally justified as it will help in guarding his superhero image till it is revealed on Diwali later this year.
"I feel that the security is totally justified because when you create something, you want it to be presented in the way it is supposed to. I often get tired on the sets and if someone takes a picture of me like that, it's not fair as it would destroy the feeling of a superhero," he told media during an interaction Thursday. The journalists gathered at his Juhu residence to celebrate his 39th birthday.
For the actor, "Krrish 3″ has been one of the toughest experiences.
"I know, I say this for all my films, but this film has been one of the toughest challenges, which is still not over," he said.
Being directed by his father Rakesh Roshan, the film, which also stars Priyanka Chopra, Kangna Ranaut and Vivek Oberoi, has been in the making for five years.
The earlier two versions – "Koi… Mil Gaya" and "Krrish" – were very successful and the actor says the fate of "Krrish 3″ will be decided when it will come out on Diwali this year.
"We have been after this film since the past five years. The special effects are still left. This Diwali we will come to know how victorious we have been," he said.
"The expectations from the film motivated us to go beyond boundaries. It has gone beyond our imagination now," he added

Six awful things you can say to a guy

Posted: 10 Jan 2013 09:03 AM PST

Things were going swimmingly well until your last outburst. He has suddenly gone into a shell and snapped all communication with you.

You fear having meandered into a forbidden territory, and that things might never be the same again. But still can't point at what exactly went wrong?

One scathing remark is all it takes to shut him down, so even while you are in the middle of a serious fight, remember your vocabulary is key. Jesting about his mom, reminding him of an ex, are just some of the terrible things you can ever say to him. And in so doing create lasting scars in your relationship. We list six awful phrases that turn him red in the face, and need to be done away with ... pronto.

'Look how smart my brother is, you can never be like him'
Comparisons drive men away! So, simply stop making them, even if they are genuine. Particularly comparisons with your brother, father or worst of all another guy friend can trigger resentment in him. Feels Santosh Krishna, a software engineer, "As long it is a fair argument, I am all for it. But the moment my wife brings her father or brother in the frame, I withdraw. It is extremely demeaning for a guy who is doing his two bit to make her happy."

Agreed, he may not have control over situations the way your father does and usually fidgets his way out, but never insult him by telling him so, even in the most deranged of moments.

'I just know you can't get over her'
If you think this is the best way of getting back at him, then think again. Fine, you want to find out a few intimate details about his past life, but just watch out - never force your way through. He shall not take such an intrusion kindly. Furthermore, it'll only distance you from him, and he might think of you as someone very insecure in relationships. It's best to leave it at that and save him the discomfort. On many instances you end up reminding him fondly of an ex. So, simply steer clear of the subject. If it is out of bounds, so be it.

Chips in Ashrita Reys doing her masters in English, "I had a bad fight with my boyfriend once and accused him of still loving an ex. He gave me a glowering look and offered to drop me back home. It was strange, hadn't thought he would take serious offence."

'God, how much money do you blow on your friends!'
Remember, they are 'His' friends, and he shall splurge on him as he desires. Your constant reminders can make him jerky, and one day he might simply stop sharing money matters with you. Guys hate to be told how to spend, especially on their friends. And if you are having trouble with his spending ways, tell him so in other words, but never accusingly. "My boyfriend always ends up paying up for dinner, drinks etc when he is out with his friends. Oddly, they never even offer and he is okay with it. But gets annoyed when I tell him not to do so," says Sunaina Verma, a travel consultant.

For him, money is one thing and friends another. He will take you as a friendship breaker if you attempted to blend the two together. So, save your lecture on managing finances for another occasion!

'What's with your mom, does she always have a poker face'
He may have promised you the moon and the stars and to love you till the end of the world, but one snide remark directed at his mom can suddenly turn you into a villain. Yes, that is one relationship he jealously guards, and shall not let even you meddle with. His mom's cold indifference or those long glances may have you squirming in discomfiture, but steer clear of voicing them to him. He will simply regard you as snooty and disrespectful towards elders.

Sritapa Roy who recently got engaged to her long-time boyfriend has a say, "My would-be-mum-in-law always makes me uncomfortable, she casts long, considering looks when I talk. I did try to broach the issue with my fiance but he turned it down calling me selfish and cynical."

'Not today please, I am too sleepy'
Using a line like this will not only turn him off, but also make him wonder if he is with the right girl. He might start considering that a life with you would be full of drab domestic chores, grocery shopping and winding up before the television by day end. By depriving him of any kind of bedroom thrill you might pass on the message, though inadvertently, that 'sex with you is no longer pleasurable'. And wake up to a sea change in his mannerism. As a couple it is fair to talk it out, but to come up with banal excuses each time you don't want to have sex is sacrilege.

Explains Prashant Sirohi, a marketing executive, "My ex girlfriend was never in a mood for lovemaking. I thought the idea of sex with me put her off. So, gradually I started distancing myself from her, and subsequently we broke up."

Using the 'F' word
'F' words may be acceptable in general arguments, but to actually use one on your partner could spell doom for your relationship. It is absolutely unforgivable and he will loathe you for it. Even if you both make up for the fight later, you are assured he'll never completely forget about it.

Saloni Shah, pursuing her MBA thinks, abusing your partner is the worst thing you can do to your relationship. "In the middle of a fiery argument with my husband I blurted out the 'F' word, and suddenly everything around me went quiet. He dropped the discussion and did not speak to me for over a week. I still feel guilty about it," says she.

So, even when your rage turns tempestuous, there is sanity in not letting go of your vocabulary

10 Things women simply love to hear

Posted: 09 Jan 2013 09:41 AM PST

If there's one thing that has always kept men wondering about women, it has to be figuring out what they love to hear? Most men would agree that when it comes to compliments and sweet nothings, women can never have enough of it. The more they get, the more they want!

So, all that you need to do to impress her is - simply tell her all that she already knows. Yes! Strange but true - whether you are in a committed relationship or worried about her losing interest in you or are an amateur wanting to take your relationship to the next level, here's a complete guide to help you learn exactly what she wants to hear...

'You look gorgeous!'
If one could list down three things that women can't live without - they would probably be - good food, a wardrobe to die for and hearty compliments. So, don't be stingy when it comes to wooing her with a shower of compliments. The more you give, the more you are likely to get in return. Say all that she has been dying to hear - whether it is about her looks, her attire, her figure, professionalism at work or her culinary skills. Anudita Mishra, 34, a homemaker says, "I love to be showered with compliments as I think most women do. It gives my ego a boost when my hubby says, 'This dress suits you', or something like - 'You look prettier than any of those ladies I know' or saying, 'I wonder how you look so sexy even in your 30s!' It just makes me feel good about myself.'

Hear say: Dr. Sushma Dayal, a clinical psychologist says, "Each of us like to receive compliments as it improves our self-image. It helps us to get rid of our inhibitions, acts as a motivation and helps us enhance our personality."

'You are the first woman in my life'
Saying this would certainly assure your girl that you are a 'one woman man' and that you don't keep hopping from one girlfriend to another. This is bound to put her on a pedestal and it will prove to be effective particularly in a long-term relationship. Be careful not to flatter her. Say this only when you mean it so that she never questions your loyalty.

Abhay Bajaj, 26, a marketing professional says, "When I told my girlfriend that she is the first woman in my life, she was utterly surprised. It's funny, but I believe most women have a myth that guys are rarely committed to a single woman. Once she was convinced, she was able to free herself from all insecurities and was head over heels for me."

Hear say: Archana Nanda, a psychologist opines, "Telling a woman that she is the first person you have been so close to is sure to elevate her self-esteem and assure her of your faithfulness. But one shouldn't do this just to just to flatter a woman, say it only when you mean it from the bottom of your heart. It will rip your relationship apart if she finds out that you kept her in the dark about your real emotions."

'You are great in bed'
This is sure to make her feel like a sex goddess and sweep away all the inhibitions she had about her performance between the sheets. Praising her performance in bed and telling her that she is simply irresistible, is sure to set the momentum for a sizzling act later. The more you elevate and understand her sexuality, the more willing she will be to explore her wildest fantasies.

Don't just be grateful for every little effort that she puts to turn you on - say it aloud!

Anant Joshi, 29, (name changed on request) says, "A few months ago I complimented my wife for her performance in bed and I think that was the greatest turn on for her since then. She's now more experimental and also more open to my sexual advances. I think it's not just men but women too who like to be appreciated for the efforts they make in the bedroom."

Hear say: Sunil Garg, an expert on sex-related issues states, "You are sure to boost to a woman's sexuality when you tell her that she was super in the act. It will want her to explore more of herself and not just you. She will be able to connect with you in a sexual context."

'You'll make a great mother'
Most women look forward to having kids, but also tend to doubt themselves when it comes to being a good mother. Saying this is bound to put her on cloud nine - particularly when her man thinks she has all that it takes to be a nurturing mother. In a way, you'll also be assuring her of your commitment and that you would like to bring up your kids with her. Ritu Jaiswal, 27, who got married a year ago, confesses, "It was my husband who made me comfortable with the idea of parenthood. I was always scared of having kids, but he made me feel at ease by assuring me that I'll be a good mother and will do an excellent job as a parent. I am now expecting my first child."

Hear say: "It's important to assure a woman that she will be a good mother and that she has qualities like compassion and endurance being a good parent. This will make her believe in herself and also prepare her for the new role," adds Dr. Sushma.

'Will you spend your life with me?'
Most women tend to be ultra sensitive and by saying this you are bound to play music on the chords of her heart. You will also affirm to her that you are not just playing around with her, but are actually looking forward to spending your entire life with her. Tell her how incomplete your life would be without her and that she has now become an indispensable part of your existence. Don't be surprised if you find her smiling for days!

Richa Nanda, 25, who works with an advertising agency in Delhi confesses, "I had been dating a guy for the last six months. We work in the same office. Although I like him very much, I was a bit reluctant to commit to him prematurely. He recently asked me whether I would like to get married to him and it was then that I made up my mind. I was convinced that he is genuinely interested in me and would like to take the relationship further."

Hear say: "I think this is the most difficult thing to ask a woman. It is a very important question and it means asking her for a long-term commitment. So, it is important to be sure before you speak your mind," adds Archana.

'What do you think about .............?'
Ask for her opinion - whether it is about buying a new car or simply about what you should wear to office. By doing this, you are not just asserting that her opinion is important to you, but also that you respect her views. And if you are still in doubt, just remember that women love to express their views on whatever it may be - so let her speak for longer than you may want to hear and let her be the diva who knows it all!

Kanika Shrivastava, 28, who works with a telecom company in Delhi agrees, "I feel really special when my boyfriend asks for my opinion. It boosts my ego. He consults me before taking any major decisions - whether it is regarding his career or investments. I appreciate the fact that he values me not just for my looks but also my brains."

Hear say: "It's important for a woman to believe that she is an important part of the decision making process. Asking her for advice - no matter how big or small the decision - makes her feel special and respected," adds Dr. Sushma.

'You are my dearest pal'
Want to assure her that you are the kind of man who's not just with her for her glam looks and her hourglass figure? Well, then all you need to do is to tell her that she is not just the love of your life, but also your dearest friend. Try to establish a connection beyond your sexual interest in her. This is sure to give her ego the much required boost and score you brownie points.

Namita Goswami, 21, a college student says, "The best thing that my boyfriend has ever told me is that he considers me his best friend. Although he has many gal pals, but when it comes to sharing anything special, I am the one he comes to. It is great to find your best friend in your partner."

Hear say: Manmeet Bhalla, a marriage and relationship counselor opines, "Being a woman's friend is the first step to winning her over. It is important for a woman to believe that she means much more to you than just being your wife or your girlfriend. What she needs to feel is that you count on her - when you are in a problem or a dilemma, when you need advice, when you need a shoulder to cry on."

'I am lucky to have you'
Tell her that she is the only one for you. If not her, you would probably have still been single. Women love to be with men who are amiable and there is no better way to tell her that you are a true gentleman than to thank her for being the person that she is. Tell her that your life is beautiful only because she is a part of it. Don't be surprised if you find her blushing.

Amit Malhotra, 24, a sales executive says, "A year ago, I just told my girlfriend how special she is to me and how lucky I feel to have her in my life and she was thrilled to hear that. Since then I have realised how important it is to be expressive with women."

Hear say: "Telling a woman that she is your lucky charm is a sure shot way to pamper her. It makes her feel that you have not just accepted her in your life, but you are also grateful to her for her presence. It is the most gratifying thought for a woman," adds Manmeet.

'You know what's on my mind'
Want to make her feel like a supreme goddess? Well, then all you need to do is tell her that she knows what's on your mind before even having to tell her. Whether it is preparing your favourite dish for dinner, buying a gift that you had wanted to buy for yourself or the intensity with which she turns you on in bed. Once she is convinced she knows you better than you do, she won't mind giving you more than you have asked for.

Madhuri Bhargava, 35, senior manager in a private bank in Noida shares, "I have been married for nine years and my husband always tells me that I know him better than he knows himself, or perhaps even his mom does. It makes me feel exceptionally good when he says that. It attaches with itself a sense of belonging to someone and that is what matters the most to me."

Hear say: "Women generally like to be pampered by saying that they know it all. It's important to convince her that she knows everything about you. It will help keep the spark in your relationship alive," says Dr. Sushma.

'I love you'
Even though you have said it in every possible way - women place much more importance to these three magical words. So, make sure you say it at the right place and the right time, but when she is least expecting it. Wondering why? Who doesn't love surprises? Especially if you are in a committed relationship, make sure you say it even more often.

"I was thrilled when my boyfriend recently proposed to me. Although I knew that he loves me right from the beginning, but I was just waiting for him to pop the question and say those three special words. I had been dying to hear it from him since a year. It was the most memorable moment of my life," says Shruti, 23, a management student.

Hear say: "There's nothing better that a woman would want to hear from her man. No matter how much you say it through your actions but most women like men who are expressive. It is very important to say what you feel to keep the romance alive. The more often you say, the better it is," says Manmeet.

Akshay Kumar addicted to Sonakshi's tiffin

Posted: 07 Jan 2013 11:04 AM PST

A disciplined eater, Akshay Kumar has lunch at around 11.45 am. When shooting, he usually eats a home-cooked vegetarian meal with just the right amount of calories.

However, when he shoots with Sonakshi Sinha — they're currently co-starring in a South remake — the diet takes a backseat as he indulges in Sonakshi's mother Punam Sinha's cooking.

Punam's fish preparations and the Sindhi kadi are legendary. Keeping her daughter Sonakshi's strict diet regime in mind, Punam makes very low-cal food, preferring to steam the fish, with brown rice accompanying it.

The star-mother is also thoughtful enough to pack for her co-stars as well.

Akshay apparently is so addicted to the food that the moment she lands on the set, his first question to her is, "What has your mother packed in your tiffin?"

And when it's time for his meal, the actor's spot boy promptly fishes (pun intended) out Sona's tiffin for his boss.

Top 100 from 2012’s playlist

Posted: 07 Jan 2013 10:47 AM PST

In the Bollywood music space, more singles were released in 2012 through links on the net, than ever before, and sealing the deal was the official launch of iTunes in India, enabling Indians to now legally own a song for as little as `12.
And while there were lots of very successful songs, there were very few successful albums. Cocktail and Barfi! were perhaps the two most prominent examples that bucked that trend.

While the fight for consumer attention and admiration intensifies with each passing year, the one place it all gets captured and measured most authentically is Radio Mirchi's annual year-end countdown, "The Mirchi Top 100". Commenting on this much-anticipated annual radio event, Prashant Panday, ED and CEO of Radio Mirchi, India's leading Radio Network says, "Mirchi Top 100 has become the true Gold-Standard in Bollywood music over the last 10 years. We believe that it's the most scientifically crafted countdown, which captures consumer tastes and trends most comprehensively."

India's most preferred song, according to Mirchi Top 100, was Tumhi Ho Bandhu from Cocktail, making it the song of the year. Following closely was The Disco Song from Student Of The Year. Ala Barfi from Barfi! was the third favourite song and Agent Vinod's Pungi bagged the fourth position. Chinta Ta Chita Chita from Rowdy Rathore came fifth in this list.

Tapas Sen, chief programming officer, Radio Mirchi, said, "This is the true report card of Bollywood music. Not only among the consumers/listeners, Mirchi Top 100 also enjoys tremendous credibility even in the industry and the trade. It is almost like the official listings of the fraternity".

Pritam, who has four songs in top 10 of Mirchi Top 100, said, "In 2009, I had three songs in Mirchi Top 100 in the top 10. In 2011, I didn't do too much good work, but in 2012, 50% of Mirchi Top 10 are my songs, which I think is my biggest achievement!" Shekhar of Vishal and Shekhar said, "Huge thanks to Mirchi listeners for making the songs of SOTY so popular. Mirchi Top 100 is what everyone in the music fraternity looks forward to and I am very happy that Mirchi listeners have liked our work."

Didn’t change Sonakshi, says Salman

Posted: 06 Jan 2013 01:05 AM PST

Salman Khan shared screen space with Sonakshi Sinha after two years in Dabangg 2, but claims nothing has changed about the actress.

Salman feels that Sonakshi is still new in Bollywood and is working on herself. "I didn't see much change in Sonakshi. Before a year was over we started shooting for second Dabangg," said the actor.

"When she entered film industry, she entered as a talented girl and then she also lost weight. When she signed Dabangg 2, she couldn't loose weight as she plays a wife and after she finished with Dabangg she lost weight again,"concluded Salman.

Juhi Chawla to star alongside Madhuri Dixit in ‘Gulab Gang’

Posted: 05 Jan 2013 07:05 AM PST

Anubhav Sinha's forthcoming 'Gulab Gang' is much into news as it marks the comeback of Madhuri Dixit in the film industry. The film is inspired by Sampat Pal-led Gulabi Gang in Bundelkhand, Uttar Pradesh, which fights for the rights of women in the region. Directed by Soumik Sen, the shooting of the film will start in December and the first schedule will be shot in Bombay.
Next to Madhuri, the other one time top actress to be roped in by Anubhav is Juhi Chawla and he says that it would be great to see them together for the first time on big screen. "Actually, there were two reasons to cast Juhi Chawla for the film. The very first thing is that it was a creative decision taken by all of us… and we thought it would be great to see two iconic stars – Madhuri and Juhi – together in the film," says Sinha.
"I couldn't have pulled off a better cast than the two most iconic female stars, Madhuri and Juhi, together for the first time on Indian screen," he said adding, "We were working on the looks of the actresses, now we are ready to roll. Since the film is based in rural India, both of them will be seen in a de-glam avatar and will have a rustic look."
'Gulab Gang' also stars Mahie Gill and Shilpa Shukla.
