Shahrukh Khan to attend ‘Don 2′ screening at Berlinale

Shahrukh Khan fans in Germany are in for a treat. The actor's latest release "Don 2: The King Is Back" will be screened at the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival, to be held Feb 9-19, and he will attend the event also.
Also, the movie, produced by Excel Entertainment, will have its mainstream theatrical release with a dubbed version in German.
Shah Rukh, along with his co-star Priyanka Chopra, director Farhan Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani, will attend the screening, scheduled at the Friedrichstadt-Palast theatre Feb 11 at 9.30 p.m.
"It is an honour and a privilege for us to have our movie screened on an international platform. It had been our resolution to deliver good cinema, and we are delighted that our work is appreciated by cinema lovers worldwide," Sidhwani said in a press statement.
The team is also expected to hold a press conference, which can only be accessed by journalists accredited by the Berlinale.
Besides the German release Feb 16, the film will also hit theatres in Russia, Turkey, Israel, France, China and Korea. – IANS

Shahrukh Khan promotes Priyanka Chopra’s film

When it comes to promoting and helping colleagues and friends from the film fraternity in popularizing their products, Shah Rukh Khan takes the cake. He proved it once again while co-hosting an award event when he told the audience to go and see Priyanka Chopra's next film when it releases.
The film is Kunal Kohli's tentatively titled under-production "Teri Meri Kahaani", which he has just finished shooting. The actress has teamed up with Shahid Kapoor in the movie.
Kohli who was present on stage when the incident happened, said: "It was really very sweet of Shah Rukh Khan. He was on stage co-hosting the show with Vidya Balan. I went up on stage to give Priyanka Chopra an award, and I said I hoped she'd get one next year for my film.
"Shah Rukh turned around and asked me, 'What is this, plugging your film at any given opportunity?' I told him, 'Sir, I learnt it from you only.' Then Shah Rukh announced to the audience that they must watch my film. I thought it was a thoughtful gesture." – IANS

18th Annual Colors Screen Awards 2012

18th Annual Colors Screen Awards 2012 took place amidst much glamour and glitter with whos who of Bollywood attending the event and with some very exciting performances by Bollywood stars. SRK was the witty host for the event along with Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan and Katrina Kaif. The show witnessed some memorable performances by Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Shahid Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. The celebrity who stole everyone's glances was Deepika Padukone who made a statement in a stunning green, backless dress.

The Best Film Award was shared by 'The Dirty Picture' and 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' – both of which bagged several awards as well. Ranbir Kapoor and Vidya Balan won Best Actor and Best Actress for their films 'Rockstar' and 'The Dirty Picture' respectively. AR Rahman bagged the Best Music Director's Award while Asha Bhosale received the Lifetime Achievement Award. Priyanka Chopra got the best actress award for her negative role in 'Saat Khoon Maaf' and Prashant Narayan won the award in male category for 'Murder 2′.
