HSC results published today

The results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations will be published today. Professor Fahima Khatun, chairman of the Dhaka Education Board, confirmed this on Tuesday. The chairmen of the 10 education boards will hand over the copies of the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at 10:00am today, she said. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid will formally announce the results through a press conference at his office at 12:30pm, Prof Fahima added. informed that the students will get their results on websites and through mobile phones from 2:00pm today. A total of 779,441 students — 424,823 male and 354,618 female — took part in the HSC and equivalent examinations under the 10 education boards this year. Of the total, 629,619 candidates — 330,012 male and 299,607 female — appeared in the HSC examinations under the eight general education boards. Besides, 76,957 students sat for Alim examinations under Madrasa Education Board while 68,961 under Technical Education Board. The HSC and its equivalent examinations were held from April 5 to May 31.

Sayed Ashraful Islam is a Bangladeshi politician. He is a parliament member and the current LGRD Minister of the Bangladesh Government.

Early life

Sayed Ashraful Islam is a Bangladeshi politician and currently the general secretary of the Bangladesh Awami League. He is also the current LGRD minister of Bangladesh. Ashraful was a successful freedom fighter during 1971 libaration war. He is the son of Bangladesh's leading independence leader Syed Nazrul Islam who was acting president during the liberation war. Ahraful is an MA and is a businessman by profession. He was involved in politics from the student life. He became the general secretary of greater Mymensingh district Chhatra League and assistant publicity secretary of the central unit. He also worked as the acting general secretary of Awami League (AL) after the arrest of its general secretary Abdul Jalil. Now he is working as the spokesman of Awami League. He is the son of Sayed Nazrul Islam, acting president of the then Mujibnagar government in 1971.

Political career_Ashraful went to the United Kingdom after the killing of his father in prison along with three other national leaders in 1975. He came back to Bangladesh in 1996 and was elected lawmaker from Kishoreganj Sadar in the 7th national elections. He was elected a lawmaker in the 2001 election too. He worked as a member of the parliamentary standing committee on foreign ministry. His electoral pledges include building up developed road and rail link from Dhaka to Kishoreganj.

Morocco's deadliest air disaster: Military plane crashes, 78 killed

RABAT: At least 78 people were killed when a Moroccan military aircraft crashed in the south of the country on Tuesday, the army said. In a news alert carried by the official news agency MAP, the army said three other people were severely wounded in the crash, Morocco's deadliest air disaster in several decades.
