Gayle on show as Bangalore bowl

Toss Royal Challengers Bangalore chose to bowl v Kolkata Knight Riders Royal Challengers Bangalore put Kolkata Knight Riders in to bat on a cloudy day at Eden Gardens. Bangalore captain Daniel Vettori expected the wicket to offer some turn and get better for batting as the match goes on. Bangalore have made one massive change to their line-up. West Indies opening batsman Chris Gayle, who only joined up with the squad earlier this week, got a game straightaway. He came in for Johan van der Wath. Gayle had previously played for Kolkata in the IPL. Syed Mohammad and S Aravind also replaced Mayank Agarwal and Ryan Ninan. Kolkata made two changes to their starting XI. Fast bowler Brett Lee was replaced by another Australian, wicket- keeper-batsman Brad Haddin, and left-arm seamer Jaidev Unadkat came in for Manvinder Bisla. Kolkata are top of the standings, with five points from six matches, but lost their previous game to Kochi Tuskers Kerala by six runs. Bangalore have won just one of their five matches so far and lie second last on the points table.
