KJo bewildered by the offer for ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’

Vishal Bhardwaj offered Bollywooddirector Karan Johar the role of a sex manic and wife-beater husband of Priyanka Chopra in ' Saat Khoon Maaf '. KJo was bewildered to get such an offer and said, "From what angle do I look like a wife-beater? And how could I enact a scene making love to Priyanka Chopra! And that too as a sex maniac! There is no way Icould do this." News has it that KJo was horrified at the character he wasoffered to play, but his horror didnot stop Irrfan Khan from playing that role! It is believed that had Karan been a part of the film, it would have been the most unusual casting. Vishal Bhardwaj did not talk to Karan directly but sent feelers through Piggie Chops. According to sources "Vishal requested his heroine to put in a word. She promptly did. As soon as Karan heard about the casting offer, hewas mighty amused initially. But then wondered how on earth he could essay a wife beater!"

Problematic climax turns into ‘No Problem’

Anees Bazmee's movie No Problemis shot elaborately in Durban, Cape Town and Mumbai. Everything was designed meticulously and finalized and executed with a lot of detailing. However, little mishaps cannot be avoided even after giving attention to minutest details. In the climax scene, the entire cast is supposed to be frantically looking for lost diamonds when a bomb explodes. The explosion is tocause a huge fish tank filled with almost 60,000 litres of water to break! Being a one-shot climax scene, things were expected to go as intended. But by chance the fish tank exploded with much greater forcecausing the water to rush out with immense force and flooding the whole set. A lot of equipmentsincluding the camera were damaged. Fortunately, the reel was saved and all was restored to normal soon enough. And thus to conclude, the scene was executed superbly! The problem turns into a No Problem!

Mammootty To Launch Home Production ‘Mathilukalkapuram’

South Indian star Mammootty has tasted success not only through acting, but also as a producer and distributor of several films down south. This time round the Mollywood actor isall set to launch his home production tentatively titled 'Mathilukalkapuram'. In a statement to the media, Mammootty confirms the fact saying that work will keep him busy for the first couple of months begr reports which said that 'Mathilukalkapuram' is a sequel to Mammotty's earlier hit 'Mathilukal', the National Award winning actor says that it is not. However, there are uncanny resemblances between the protagonists of 'Mathilukal' and 'Mathilukalkapuram'. Explaining further, Mammootty says that the story of 'Mathilukalkapuram' may be described as an annex to that of his 1989 National Award winning film. Mammootty will play the male protagonist in the 2010 venture but the female lead has not been confirmed as of yet. Mammootty says that he wants to rope in an actress who is fluent with the Malayalam tongue. On the other hand, the South Indian superstar has also been a part of several Tamil, Telugu and Kannada ventures in three decade long career. His latest film 'Shikari' will show Mammootty speaking in Kannada. Speaking to the media, Mammoottyinning nextyear as he has a number of films and television shows in his hands at present. However, it is his home production that will take upthe maximum part of his time next year. Contrary to earlie says that Kannada was easy for him to memorize as the language was quite similar to Malayalam. Aguilera to take legal actionagainst hackers

London, Dec 9 - Singer Christina Aguilera is planning to take legal action against computer hackers for leaking her semi-nude photos online. The photos show her in various provocative poses in her underwear. According to Aguilera's spokesperson, the pictures surfaced on various websites after an internet account belonging to Aguilera's stylist was hacked, reports contactmusic.com.And the singer has now asked herlawyers to take action against the hackers. 'The photos of Christina Aguilera being leaked to the press were illegally obtained by a hacker whotapped into Christina's personal stylist's account. The photos weretaken in the privacy of Ms. Aguilera's home and were used only in a personal exchange between the star and her stylist,'said the spokesperson. 'We find the actions of the hackers and the press who purchased and/or obtained these photos to be irresponsible and actionable. We are attempting to determine the identity of the hackers and will pursue them aggressively. Their conduct is reprehensible,' the spokesperson added. IANS

SRK escapes injury but the camera gets destroyed

Shahrukh Khan continues with his action scenes and the risks takenby the King increases. While shooting a wild action sequence for Farhan Akhtar's 'Don 2' in Berlin, SRK survived a fatal crash. According to sources, it was a car chase sequence where SRK drove rash with Priyanka Chopra beside him. However, the car went out of control and dashed onto the camera, destroying it completely. Luckily, no one was injured. But no one could avoid the losses of lakhs as the camera was destroyed. But the courtly King apologized to all and volunteered to pay for the damages. This was the second time when SRK has escaped with minor injuries from a dreadful accident. Earlier, SRK managed to escape a serious crash while performing a high jump sequence in Don 2.

After comedies, SAB focuses on magic with new shows

New Delhi, Dec 8 - SAB TV, known for its light-hearted shows, is setto entertain its viewers with two new magic-comedies - 'Ring WrongRiing' and 'Gili Gili Gappa'. 'We have always tried to present something new and fresh to our viewers. Magic-comedy is a genre that has not been touched by our channel. Both the shows will bring fresh humour to the audiences,' Anooj Kapoor, executive vice president and business head of SAB TV, told IANSat the launch of the shows Wednesday. 'We have experimented within thecomedy genre with silent, horror, gangster and courtroom comedy. Ireally think that magic-comedy is a very exciting genre and has a lot of potential. I am glad we werethe ones who got the opportunity to bring back that genre after such a long lull,' he added. Earlier, 'Shararat' and 'Son Pari' were the two magic-comedies, shown on Star Plus, which struck a chord with audiences. 'Ring Wrong Riing' is about Mansi Chouhan, played by Muskaan Mihani, a dutiful and hardworking housewife who can go to any extent to keep her family happy. Seeing her plight, her magician father-in-law Dinanath Chouhan, played by Rakesh Bedi, gifts her amagical ring. Mansi uses the ring to please everyone, but things often get out of hand and lead to crazy and funny situations. The show also marks the comeback of Asif Sheikh, popularly known as Mr. Verma of hit sitcom 'Yess Boss'. Hewill be seen as Mansi's husband Vijay Chouhan. 'Ring Wrong Riing' goes on air Dec 13 and 'Gili Gili Gappa' will be unveiled three days later. 'Gili Gili Gappa' is about three children, their policeman father and their nani (maternal grandmother). Shweta Gulati, Varun Badola and Shoma Anand play lead roles in it. While 'Ring Wrong Riing' will be aired Monday-Wednesday, 'Gili Gili Gappa' will be shown Thursday-Friday at 7.30p.m. IANS

Mumbai, Dec 8 - Big budget masala movie 'Tees Maar Khan' is releasing with Ajay Devgn's animation flick 'Toonpur Ka Superhero', but the actor is not nervous and says it is a well mademovie and he is confident about its box office prospect. 'So many films are being made, so you hardly get a solo week. Also every film is different, so there isno point comparing the two. The genre of our film is very differentfrom 'Tees Maar Khan',' Ajay told reporters here at the music launch of 'Toonpur Ka Superhero'. 'We have made a good film, so we are confident. It is very nice. I would call it a hardcore comedy and the added attraction is that it is animated. The film is for both kids and adults,' he added. 'Toonpur Ka Superhero' is a live action mixed with animation. Ajay has teamed up with wife Kajol in it. Releasing Dec 24, it has been produced by Krishika Lulla and Kumar Mangat Pathak and Kireet Khurana has directed it. Mumbai, Dec 8 - Ajay Devgn is themost versatile actor, says his wifeKajol, who also believes that the man in the real is more impressivethan all his reel characters. 'I personally think Ajay is the mostversatile actor that we have today. He has been successful in all genres - whether comedy or drama,' Kajol told reporters Wednesday at the music launch oftheir upcoming action animation movie 'Toonpur ka Superhero'. She can't be more right as the 41-year-old proved his verstality with five releases this year which were different from each other - he was seen in two comedies 'Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge' and 'Golmaal 3', political thriller 'Raajneeti', crime saga 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai' and a film on honour killing titled 'Aakrosh'. When asked which character of Ajay impressed her the most, Kajol said: 'I'm very impressed withAjay Devgn in real life (more) thanany of his on screen characters.' Both will be seen in 'Toonpur Ka Superhero', which is produced by Krishika Lulla and Kumar Mangat Pathak. Kireet Khurana has directed the movie, which will hit the screens Dec 24. Talking about her experience of working again with Ajay after the2008 release 'U, Me Aur Hum', Kajol said: 'It's great fun working with people you know. The best part is that you're comfortable with each other.' And why did she decide to be a part of an animation film? 'I liked the idea a lot. Colors to get show cause notice over ‘Bigg Boss’

Mumbai, Dec 8 - The Bombay High Court Wednesday asked the information and broadcasting ministry to serve a show cause notice to entertainment channel Colors over the content and timings of its reality show 'Bigg Boss' to enable it present its viewpoint on the matter. 'In our petition to the honourable court, we had asked to be given a fair hearing by the I&B (information and broadcasting) ministry to understand our viewpoint and accordingly clarify our stance on I&B ministry's objection to 'Bigg Boss',' a channelsource told IANS. 'Today the honourable court has asked the I&B ministry to serve us a show cause notice on this matter and give us an opportunity to present our viewpoint on the same,' the source added. The I&B ministry also confirmed the development. The ministry last month directed Colors to change the telecast timings of 'Bigg Boss' from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. following viewers' complaints of vulgarity. 'Bigg Boss' was, however, allowed to continue with its normal timings of 9 p.m. till Dec 3. It filed a petition in the high court soon after. 'Bigg Boss' features a group of celebrity participants locked up ina house for three months withoutany access to the outside world, including to newspapers or television. IANS
