What is the safe period to have sex? Posted: 12 Jun 2013 09:46 AM PDT The normal woman's menstrual cycle is supposed to last 28 days. Of these only days 8 to 19 are considered fertile i.e. a woman is likely to have a baby through unprotected intercourse, all other days are safe. The cycle is considered to begin with the first day of bleeding and ends when the bleeding starts again. Opting to have sex during the 'safe period' isn't fool-proof though. A lot of women have irregular cycles and the cycle length can vary from women to women. That's why the so-called 'safe period' is not in truth not that safe and it's better to use condoms or other contraceptive methods like the oral pill to prevent unwanted pregnancies. Condoms don’t reduce sexual pleasure: Study Posted: 12 Jun 2013 09:46 AM PDT The study also found that men didn't have trouble maintaining erections while wearing a condom and women couldn't tell if a condom was lubricated or not. This study will greatly help in the fight against STDs. He said,'The U.S. continues to grapple with high rates of sexually transmitted infections, HIV, and unintended pregnancies. 'We need to understand how people make choices about the products they use and how these products contribute to the safety and pleasurable aspects of their sexual experiences. 'This is particularly important as the products themselves evolve and become more mainstream in American society.' The safest way to prevent STD transmission remains the condom. The Centre for Disease Control and Prevention in the US estimates that there are a staggering 19 million new infections in the US every year. The most common infection is chlamydia followed by HIV, genital warts, syphilis, gonorrhoea and pubic lice. Irwin Goldstein, editor of The Journal of Sexual Medicine, said the study continued the work of pioneering sexologist Alfred Kinsey, who founded the Institute for Sex Research at Indiana University in 1947. He said: 'Gathering sexual data regarding condom use is highly relevant. 'Understanding current condom use offers health care providers an opportunity to educate those people uncomfortable with condoms but for whom lack of use may lead to significant sexually transmitted infection health risk.' |
Police discover 5 letters in Suraj Pancholi’s house Posted: 12 Jun 2013 09:46 AM PDT In a search operation conducted at the Pancholi residence on June 11, Tuesday, police have found five letters exchanged between Jiah Khan and Suraj Pancholi where the late actor has accused her boyfriend of physical abuse, rape, threats and cheating. Suraj meanwhile was arrested on June 10, Monday, for abetting Jiah Khan's suicide, and has been remanded to police custody till June 13, Thursday. Jiah's mother, Rabiya Amin Khan has claimed that Suraj and Jiah were in a live-in relationship for the past one year. She has said in her statement that Suraj sent Jiah a 'break-up bouquet' and he also physically assaulted her as there were bruises on Jiah's chin and neck and all these pushed her daughter towards suicide. The police are waiting for the postmortem report which will throw more light on whether Jiah was abused or not. They have also been trying to crack the password of Jiah's two phones so that they can access the messages which will help the investigation a great deal. The police are also questioning Suraj's servant Deva to know more about the duo's torrid love affair. Last heard, Suraj might be charged under the domestic violence act. |
Jiah Khan suicide: Did Salman Khan advise Suraj Pancholi to end his relationship? Posted: 12 Jun 2013 09:46 AM PDT With each passing day, Jiah Khan's suicide case is witnessing major twists and turns, some shocking ones too. First, Rabiya Amin Khan made Jiah's six-page suicide note public and held Aditya Pancholi and Suraj Pancholi responsible for her daughter's death. And then, Suraj was arrested yesterday evening on charges of abetting Jiah's suicide. Now, the latest update comes in the form of another shocking revelation from Rabiya. In an exclusive interview to a tabloid, Jiah's mother said, "He (Aditya Pancholi) told Salman Khan about it (Jiah-Suraj affair), who tried to talk Suraj out of it. But Suraj told him (Salman) that he loved Jiah and Salman was then cool about it." She added, "It's a misconception that Aditya and I were friends. If he was my friend, things would have been amicable and this incident wouldn't have happened. But yeah, I know he threw a fit when he came to know about his son's relationship with my daughter." Only a few months ago, it was being said that the Salman was launching Suraj in the remake of the 1983 Subhash Ghai hit, Hero. We wonder if the charges on Suraj are proved by the court and if he's held guilty in Jiah's suicide case, will Salman still continue to support him? Will it change the equation between the two? Only time will tell…Till then watch this space for more updates. |
Vidya Balan’s Ghanchakkar style: Loud and tacky! Posted: 12 Jun 2013 09:46 AM PDT The actor has been appearing in a Punjabi-ish avatar at all her Ghanchakkar promotional events. Looking at her, we cannot help but pucker our lips in distaste… We all know Vidya Balan's tendency to slip into her onscreen character just before the release of a film. Remember the promotional events for Ishqiya, Kahaani and The Dirty Picture? Keeping up with the trend she created, she has been reality show hopping in a whole wardrobe of colourful ensembles. And honestly, she brings to mind a brightly coloured ball rebounding from wall to wall. She will be seen playing the role of a hyper Punjabi housewife in the movie, opposite Emraan Hashmi. Her body language and the way she talks in the film is the absolute antithesis of a coy Indian homemaker for whom 'suniye jee' is a permanent fixture in any conversation she has with her husband. But did the stylist really have to go this over the top for making VB seem like a fashionably enthusiastic yet prone to style disaster kinda lady in the film? Till we find the answers, here's VB in her garish outfits… Retro dud: floral bell-bottoms, bell sleeved top and dangling kiddie-styled earrings – yes, she wore all this to India's Dancing Superstar. VB's bright pink avatar is so not easy on the eye. Give Balan a Bajaj scooter and she will look like a sidey from a 70s film. Vidya the 'gundi': Isn't she looking like Vidya bhaai in those tight-fit denims, joker-ish sleeved T-shirt and blue wedges? Every statement is as different as chalk from cheese. Balan makes sure she goes totally out of her way to look straight out of the ark… The cheesy disco dancer: Looks like she is all set to break into Mithun-style dancing. The shiny golden top and skin-fit leggings are enough to ruin our happy 'all set to check out some cool fashion' mood. |
Vidya Balan to catch Emraan Hashmi’s lie publicly! Posted: 12 Jun 2013 09:46 AM PDT Poor Emraan Hashmi! Well, not really Hashmi, but his character of the henpecked husband in the upcoming film Ghanchakkar. His onscreen wife Vidya Balan will now put him through a lie-detector test to expose his lie. The makers of Ghanchakkar have planned an interesting promotional gimmick. Events are being planned where Vidya Balan will put Emraan Hashmi through a polygraph test. In the movie, Emraan Hashmi plays a robber to hides a big booty somewhere but then loses his memory. However, his accomplices and even his lusty wife (Balan) doubt if he's really lost his memory or he's just lying. Plans are also afoot to promote Ghanchakkar through special kitty parties to be thrown by Vidya Balan. The film's director Rajkumar Gupta said in a statement, "We came up with the idea when Vidya and I overheard a conversation that a bunch of women were having during a kitty party. They were discussing their marriage, how lazy their partners could be and they were sometimes forgetful also. We immediately knew that we wanted to throw these parties and talk to the women about their lazy lads." In 'Ghachakkar', Vidya plays a Punjabi housewife who thinks her husband isn't romantic and is a lazy lad. |
