First Look: Ishkq in Paris

Posted: 09 Jul 2012 10:37 AM PDT

Preity Zinta has launched the first look of her comeback film, 'Ishkq in Paris', which is set in the enchanting backdrop of French capital. The poster in divided into three parts: The first has a couple gazing at the Eiffel Tower at 7:55 pm, the second displays two people enjoying drinks at a bar lounge at 2:35, while the third shows them moving out of a library cafe in the wee hours of the morning.
The movie is a love story drawing inspiration from the Hollywood superhit 'Before Sunrise' and is shot in famous tourist spots like Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Museum in Paris. The film is directed by Prem Soni and produced by Preity Zinta and also stars French actress and two-time Oscar nominee Isabelle Adjani in the lead role. The film will release in September this year.
Priety plays a half French and half Indian woman in the film and has also given considerable contribution in the script.

Ajay Devgan to host ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 5′

ajay devgan
Superhit telly show 'Khatron Ke Khiladi' and Bollywood's Khiladi Akshay Kumar have been going along quite well for its past seasons. However, this season Akshay will not be able to host the show as his wife Twinkle Khanna is expecting her second baby and Akki does not want to compromise on his fatherly duties.
With Akshay Kumar out of the boat, the makers were left with two other choices of John Abraham and Ajay Devgan. Unforunately, John is keeping busy these days with his forthcoming 'Shootout At Wadala', 'Race 2', 'Happy New Year' and Shoojit Sircar's next. With no dates to spare, he refused to be a part of the show.
So, now the upcoming fifth season of 'Khatron Ke Khiladi' will have Ajay Devgan as the host. Ajay made his entry into Bollywood as a pure action hero with 'Phool Aur Kaante' and he could accommodate the dates for the show.

Censor Board denies a U-certificate to Onir’s ‘I AM’

Posted: 09 Jul 2012 10:29 AM PDT

Censor Board denied giving a U-certificate to filmmaker Onir's award-winning film 'I AM' owing to the fact that it deals with controversial issues like sperm donation, gay rights, Kashmiri Pandits and child sex abuse. Onir is upset with Board's decision and says that inspite of making the demanded cuts, he did not get a U-certificate as a result of which he cannot air the show on Doordarshan. Onir also challenged this decision saying that a show like Aamir Khan's Satyamev Jayate, which too deals with true stories on issues like child sex abuse and alcoholism gets a prime time slot but his film is deprived of this right.
Onir says, "Satyamev Jayate also deals with serious social issues, but it has got prime time slot. It is a good thing that serious shows like Satyamev Jayate are being shown at prime time but at the same time Doordarshan cannot show I AM. And I cannot even apply for it. I have already cut out seven minutes of the film and abuses. How can you deny that? I find it very strange because for other satellite rights, you require an U/A certificate, which I have. For Doordarshan, you need an U-certificate, which is ridiculous. I think we are so stuck up with our beliefs that we forget that rules are made for us and we are not made for the rules."
Onir also expressed his anger on Twitter's social forum. He wrote: "I am dismayed at the double standards of the censor board. While its ok to show 'Satyame Jayate' on DD prime time. 'I AM' is refused." "Today, I feel a little defeated – thank you censor board!!!" he further wrote.
Released in 2011, Onir raised funds for I AM through crowd sourcing and as many as 400 people around the world funded the film. The movie stars Rahul Bose, Arjun Mathur, Sanjay Suri, Abhimanyu Singh, Radhika Apte, Sharnaz Patel, Anurag Kashyap, Juhi Chawla, Manisha Koirala, and Purab Kohli.

Saif, Deepika and Diana at the BMW Cocktail party

Posted: 09 Jul 2012 10:28 AM PDT

The promotions of 'Cocktail' have kick started and as the leading stars, Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty, make public appearances, the fans are obviously smitten by their glamour and style hoping the flick to be high on style quotient. Recently, the three appeared at the Cocktail promotions with BMW at the Mini Cooper showroom in Santa Cruz on Friday, July 6. All three arrived around 11.00 p.m. Deepika was driving a Mini Cooper with Diana on the front seat and Saif sitting at the back. Deepika parked the car opposite the showroom and as soon as the three got out, a huge crowd gathered around them. To control the crowd, the bouncers started pushing the people and in the hustle-bustle some camerapersons' tripods, camera lights and head phones were broken. However, those whose equipment's were broken were compensated through cheques at the spot only. Deepika looked bold and ravishing in a silky herringbone design and snakeskin print jumpsuit from Diesel. She did not hesitate a bit in flaunting her back with hair tied neatly. She completed her look with a pink clutch and a gemstone necklace from Mawi. Check out the stylish three at the BMW Cocktail party……

Aamir’s showdown with Talaash's director

Posted: 08 Jul 2012 11:39 AM PDT

Aamir Khan's determination to control every aspect of his films, be they as an actor, director or producer has led to several clashes in the pastwith Ram Gopal Varma, with Amol Gupte, with Anusha Rizvi.

The buzz in Bollywood is that last fortnight, the finicky actor had a showdown with Reema Kagti, director of his latest film, Talaash over the second half of the movie. The film, a cop-drama starring Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor alongside Aamir has been in the mak
ing for a while and by the looks of it may take even longer before it hits the screen. Aamir who lost weight and grew a moustache for his role in the film, showed the film to a select group of friends and relatives as is his wont. Based on the feedback and his own instincts, the actor suggested changes to the film and which is where the trouble started.

It is learnt that Aamir called for a meeting last fortnight at his home in Bandra with Talaash producers Riteish Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar and the director Reema Kagti. Aamir suggested re-shooting certain portions of the film and insisted that he wanted to sit on the final edit. At
which, sources say, Kagti lost her cool and put her foot down, refusing to reshoot. It was a brief but ugly altercation which only hardened Aamir's stance. The actor is reported to have told his guests that no one had spoken to him thus in all his life.

That Kagti and Aamir's wife Kiran Rao were once flat-mates made the matters more awkward. The Rs 40-crore film which was supposed to release in June initially, is now slated for a November release but those in the know say that following this showdown, the film may be further delayed. Aamir who is determined to ensure the changes he has suggested, is committed to Dhoom 3 which he
starts shooting next week.

A source close to the film told us, "Aamir tried his best to persuade Reema to make the changes and for which he pushed his dates for Dhoom 3 but he can't do that any longer." When contacted, Reema Kagti insisted that there had been no showdown. "Both Aamir and Farhan are happy with the film and Talaash will release on November 30," she said. It will be interesting to see if it's with or without the changes suggested by the fastidious Khan.

Indian stars have marginal acceptance abroad: Gulshan

Posted: 08 Jul 2012 11:32 AM PDT

Gulshan Grover, who has worked in international movies, says that the acceptability of Indian movies and actors abroad is bare minimum.
"Acceptability of Indian stars and acceptability of Indian films is very marginal," Gulshan told IANS, adding that Hollywood stars' "love for India is genuine, but the rest all is said by the PR machinery".
"If you have an opportunity, please ask them if they have seen any Bollywood film? They would say, 'No I have not but I have heard so much about it.'," he added.
Gulshan's international projects include Prisoners of the Sun and Desperate Endeavours.
Recalling his initial days in international platform, the 56-year-old said: "When I stared working in Hollywood, at that time only actors from theatre or parallel cinema were thought as worthy of being able to work in international or Hollywood films. Actors from commercial films or stars were not considered worthy of stardom.
Gulshan will be seen in Shuja Ali's Ban Gayi Baat in which for the first time he will play a double role, one of them being a gay character.

F-16 Aggressor PC Game Full Version Free Download

Posted: 07 Jul 2012 05:01 AM PDT

undefined

F-16 Aggressor: The real shame of it is there is a fine, fine flight simulator at the core of Aggressor.
Sometimes when I'm cleaning my ears I push the Q-tip just a little too far in, and it hits something that hurts like hell. It kind of hums for a while and then settles into a dull ache. The thing is, I can experience this sensation all I want for about a quarter cent per tip, whereas Bethesda would have me pay upwards of $40 for relatively the same sensation. That throbbing in the brain, that jabbing pain in the head: That's about what I took away from Bethesda's first attempt at a flight simulation, F-16 Aggressor.
British flight sims are like the British: They may have one or two good bits, but it always goes to hell when you get to the teeth. In the case of British sims, things always go to hell when you get to the controls. They wind up assigning simple commands like "fire guns" to Alt + Ctrl + ~ and so forth. Let's face it: There has never been a British sim that was worth a damn out of the box. DID took two years to get EF2000 up to par, and Total Air War still isn't exactly burnin' 'em up. Rowan seems to assign controls by having a chicken pick at three successive keys and binding all three to a common command like "raise flaps." And now we have GSI, composed of former employees of DID, and their brainchild F-16 Aggressor. Their key assignments aren't as baroque as in other games, but they've managed to commit the Unholy Trinity of sim no-nos: no key mapping, no joystick configuration, and, stunningly, no keycard included in the packaging. It's almost like they want to make your brain hurt.
F-16 Aggressor has puzzling aspirations. The designers actually set out to re-create Strike Commander. Remember Strike Commander? It was going to be Origin's flight sim version of the Wing Commander format, a narrative-driven mercenary flight simulation. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out quite right. It was incredibly late, pretty buggy, and just not all that impressive. So of course it makes perfect sense to emulate it. And then, to really nail the lid down, GSI emulates it badly.
The real shame of it is there is a fine, fine flight simulator at the core of Aggressor. GSI has modeled the F-16's flight properties with commendable detail. The funky handling of the rudders at certain speeds, tough landings, speed bleeding, and other things related to flight are all smack on. It's a flight model worthy of the best F-16 sims, poised to offer the hard-core crowd everything it could demand... until you get to the systems modeling. These are more on par with a Novalogic game. The complex instrument modeling of Falcon 4.0 and other true hard-core sims is only hinted at in Aggressor.
This is not a problem for a midlevel sim, but Aggressor has pretensions of hard-core greatness - pretensions that crash to the ground due to grossly simplified radar controls. A sim has two prime components: the modeling of the flight of the plane and the modeling of the systems. On one count, the developers succeed at realism, and on the other, they fail. In the end, they scuttle all their good programming by failing to offer any realism or difficulty switches whatsoever. The flight model is set to its full realism level at all times. When you have a very realistic flight model, an unrealistic set of sensors, and no ability to change the complexity of anything, you have some truly schizoid problems.
Graphically, while F-16 is quite good, if at times mind-blowing, it's true that there are better-looking, better-performing sims out there. The terrain is a bit patchy, but object modeling is good. Cockpits look very good and have effective dynamic animations for throttle and stick. HUD overlays and quick-view keys provide excellent perspectives on the instruments. In another stunning lapse, however, GSI has failed to include a padlock view. This makes situational awareness well nigh impossible and deals another serious blow to the sim.
Possibly the most baffling aspect of F-16 is its alleged "mercenary flight sim" nature. You would expect to have to fly missions to earn money to pay for weapons and upkeep on your planes. That was the plan in early specs for this game, and there are traces of it left. You still fly for money, but the money is merely used to rate your performance. It has no other function. As for the "mercenary" element, it's mainly limited to mission structure and some cursory background info. Missions range across Africa and include a fair selection of strike and dogfighting action. Without any in-game mission statements or target priorities, it's often hard to remember just what you're supposed to be doing. The quick-start missions allow for some custom dogfighting configurations, but there's no mission editor. As for the AI, it's OK, but nothing special. Wingmen (when you have them, which is rarely) aren't much help, and enemy pilots aren't all that aggressive. At least Aggressor has multiplayer, which compensates for these failings only slightly.
Aside from a very good flight model, there really isn't a lot for which to recommend F-16 Aggressor. For a company to create a sim with not only no key mapping, but also no key assignment card, is just mind-blowing. (You can find the key assignments buried in a 200-page manual.) This feels like a game that started out really good, with some strong elements and good design intentions. But then it got delayed over and over, features were dropped, sections removed, and finally it just shipped. You know, like most computer games.

The Mystery Of The Mummy PC Game Full Version Free Download

Posted: 07 Jul 2012 04:57 AM PDT

The Mystery of the Mummy is fundamentally a pretty unoriginal adventure game.

In Frogware's new graphical adventure game The Mystery of the Mummy, you play as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's renowned inspector Sherlock Holmes, and you must investigate the mysteriously abandoned mansion of a British archeologist. But the setting is basically an excuse to send you through a series of enclosed areas, solving some pretty unoriginal puzzles along the way, because Mystery of the Mummy is fundamentally a pretty unoriginal adventure game--the kind that essentially consists of several puzzles separated by some brief cinematic cutscenes and a whole lot of backtracking. As such, you might find it hard to appreciate Mystery of the Mummy unless you already consider yourself to be a great fan of adventure games.
Yeah. No shinola, Sherlock.
Mystery of the Mummy is played from a first-person view in pseudo-3D environments that you can look through and pan about as you go. Occasionally, you'll happen upon an item that you can pick up and add to your inventory, then later use to solve one of the game's puzzles. The game's story--that Holmes is on a case to investigate the spooky home of an Egyptologist who has mysteriously vanished--unfolds in cinematic cutscenes that play each time you solve major puzzles. Unfortunately, like with so many adventure games in the past few years, Mystery of the Mummy's puzzles are often unintuitive and even nonsensical; it makes no sense at all that the world's greatest sleuth would be spending his time using a fork on a painting to reveal a scepter to use on a fan to shatter a vase to recover an ankh, or that he'd be trying to complete a slider puzzle with a picture of a sarcophagus on it. These puzzles generally aren't too challenging, either; you can actually solve most of them by experimenting with every item in your inventory, though you occasionally have to perform the traditional adventure-game pixel hunt by carefully moving your pointer across the screen until you find the hidden piece of the next puzzle.
The puzzles might seem appealing to longtime fans of traditional adventure games, but unfortunately, the game's graphics probably won't seem appealing to anyone other than adventure-game die-hards. Mystery of the Mummy runs at a fixed resolution of 640x480, though from the looks of it, the game itself was designed at an even lower resolution, because nearly everything in Mystery of the Mummy looks blurry and unfocused. It doesn't help matters that Mystery of the Mummy's color palette is generally dark and drab--especially when some of the game's puzzles require you to hunt for hidden items and switches. Considering that most modern computer games have begun to use 3D graphics, it's safe to say that Mystery of the Mummy would have, and should have, looked better with a fully 3D graphics engine.
How about a scepter behind a painting you have to use a fork on?
Mystery of the Mummy also doesn't really sound like much--Sherlock Holmes himself often makes loud remarks that serve as hints when you uncover clues and important items, and while Holmes' lines sometimes seem as though they're delivered a bit too enthusiastically, his dialogue is appropriate enough. Other than a few canned sound effects that signal a completed puzzle, Mystery of the Mummy has no other sound besides its subdued music soundtrack, which isn't all that great but really isn't especially noticeable. Strangely, the game has absolutely no music when you first start the game, and no title screen either--you just end up staring at a menu screen full of icons in complete silence.
The opening menu serves as a good indication of how substandard Mystery of the Mummy's production values are and how stripped-down the entire game seems as a result. The game's blurry graphics, sparse sound, and unimaginative puzzles probably won't impress anyone, though true-blue adventure-game fans will at least appreciate the fact that Mystery of the Mummy is a fairly lengthy game that sells for a budget price of just $20 at retail. Unfortunately, it's also completely linear and offers no real replay value. While it's true that new PC adventure games are getting more and more scarce, it's also true that much better adventure games than this have come along in recent years.
