Shaurya Chauhan bags a negative role in ‘Krrish 3′

Showing respect and tribute to late father Mansoor Ali Khan forward, Saif Ali Khan attended the finals of the Bhopal Pataudi Polo Tournament held at Jaipur Polo Ground in Delhi over the weekend. He had company from his beau Kareena Kapoor, mom Sharmila Tagore and sisters Soha Ali Khan and Saba Ali Khan. The tournament was held as a memorial for Nawab Pataudi, who loved the game and did all he could to promote the sport.
After being conferred with the mantle of the new Nawab of Pataudi following his father's death in September, now Saif has taken up this cause of promoting the game.

Rohan Sippy launched his musical 'All That Jazz & Love' at Chivas Studio and the event was attended by some of the hottest celebs of our tinsel town including the likes of Abhishek Bachchan, Kalki Koechlin, , Imtiaz Ali, Jaya Bachchan, Siddharth Mallya, Mandira Bedi, Aftab Shivdasani, Angela Johnson and several others.

‘Don 2′ team’s Patna visit cancelled – Shahrukh Khan upset

shahrukh khan bollywood 200x292 BollywoodWorld.com, Shahrukh Khan was upbeat about visiting Patna for the first time Tuesday to promote his upcoming film "Don 2: The King Is Back". But the plans had to be scrapped due to "some security issue", according to the superstar.

"Was super excited with my first ever visit to Patna but district authorities said some security issue. Will come some other time. Damn!!!" Shah Rukh posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

The movie's team kickstarted their multi-city promotion tour in non-metropolitan centres in India Tuesday.

Producer Ritesh Sidhwani also tweeted: "Feeling sad couldn't make it to Patna. Was waiting to take off from Mumbai but was told that we cannot land in Patna. Next stop Nagpur!"

"Don 2: The King Is Back" is the much-awaited sequel to Farhan Akhtar's 2006 action thriller "Don – The Chase Begins", which itself was a remake of the 1978 film "Don".

The movie, starring Shah Rukh, Priyanka Chopra, Boman Irani, Om Puri, Sahil Shroff, Aly Khan and Nawwab Khan, will release Dec 23. – IANS

Memorial service for Dev Anand at Mehboob Studio

dev anand 200x173 BollywoodWorld.com, A memorial service for evergreen star Dev Anand, who passed away following a cardiac arrest in London last week, will be held at the famous Mehboob Studio here Friday.

"Condolence prayer meeting for Dev Anand will be held on Friday between 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Mehboob Studio, Bandra, Mumbai," the actor's close associate Mohan Churiwala, told IANS.

The meet is expected to be attended by the who's who of the Hindi film industry, for which the actor will always be alive like a guiding star.

Dev Anand, who dedicated 65 years of his life to cinema and acted in more than 110 movies, died in London Dec 3. He was 88.

He was cremated in London Saturday and his close friends and family members were present at the Putney Vale electric crematorium for his last rites.

The memorial service is being organised at the Mehboob Studio for a special reason.

"It is being organised there because of the sentimental reasons. The studio has his personal make-up room and which has been kept just like that. It still has his costumes, his make-up kit, etc," Churiwala had earlier told

I’ve let myself go – John Abraham (Interview)

By his own admission, John Abraham is a changed man. He is talking more, dancing more and is certainly more visible than ever before. With a slate of films lined up in the New Year, Bollywood's quintessential handsome hunk hopes to find "inspired living".

"I think I have let myself go. I have opened up and let my hair down gradually. So the change is evident, both in my personal as well as professional life," John told IANS in a telephonic interview from Mumbai.

The 38-year-old who split from his girlfriend of eight years, actress Bipasha Basu, earlier this year, was quite reticent earlier. But thanks to movie promotions, which required him to be in the limelight as well as meet and greet fans and mediapersons, John has come out of his shell.

This year has been significant for John as he had three releases – "7 Khoon Maaf", "Force" and "Desi Boyz". If "7 Khoon Maaf" won critical appreciation, the other two faired well at the box office. In fact, "Force" is being considered one of John's biggest releases so far in his eight-year-old acting career, which kickstarted with "Jism".

"I am happy. This is the best phase of my career so far. But you never know how long this lasts! With my present slate of films, I can look forward to ups and downs, but I would like to believe that I have a safe set of projects in my kitty," said John.

His visibility on screen and off screen will bump up next year thanks to his long line-up of films – "I, Me Aur Main", "Housefull 2″, "Race 2″ and "Shootout At Wadala".

Could the much-talked about sequel to Mahesh Bhatt's "Jism" also be in the pipeline?

"Well, I can't say anything right now. Bhatt saab spoke to me about the film, but I have been busy shooting. He spoke to me and said: 'John, I'm planning something on it.' But that's about it. I have not even read the script yet; so I can take a decision only once I do that," said John, who might feature alongside Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone if he is offered and accepts "Jism 2″.

But for now, he wants to concentrate on the projects in hand, so that he can achieve "inspired living", which also happens to be the essence behind home appliances and consumer electronics brand, Haier, of which he is a brand ambassador.

"Inspired living to me is self-actualisation…it is beyond the physiological needs of people. I would like to believe that I lead an inspired life. But I guess with the kind of lifestyle I lead, it's a little far beyond for me to achieve. But every day, I am trying to attain it," said the actor.

In sync with Haier's green initiative, Eco Life, John believes it is important to use technology in an eco-friendly way.

Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl – Movie Review

Please don't look for another "Band Baaja Baaraat" from the Ranveer Singh-Anushka Sharma-Maneesh Sharma team. And chances are, you will come away from "Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl" with a feeling of having seen a smoothly-sculpted con caper about a suave charlatan who wins over 31….or is it 32?…women and then breaks their heart while running away with their bank balance.

We only see the con man, played with sly suaveness by Ranveer Singh hoodwink four women. The first three episodes where Ricky Bahl (yup, that's his name but we know it only at the end) cons first a bubbly loud Punjabi business family's fun-loving girl (played with endearing effervescence by Parineeta Chopra), then a uptight hoity-toity business executive (Dipannita Sharma, accomplished) and then simple widow from lucknow (Aditi Sharma, sweet) are cut beautifully, like a well-tailored roomy band-gala sherwani.

Suresh Sharma's editing moves through Ranveer character's various escapades with a direct deftness that leaves no room for loose moments. However, a bagginess creeps into the narration in the second-half when Ranveer meets his match (in more ways than one) in Goa. Here, the chemistry is more laboured than luminous.

Though Goa is captured with pristine picturesqueness, the Ranveer-Anushka relationship in the second-half falters due to a lack of inner conviction. Though the writing is smooth textured and layered, the mellow momentum is forfeited once it's payback time for the con man.

Anushka Sharma's predictable bubbly-on-the-prowl act here often seems selfconscious and repetitive. Could we please see this bundle of energy do something else? And really, her introductory song is more a homage to Ram Gopal Varma's "Rangeela" than a panoramic look-see at Anushaka's character's heartland.

The songs and choreography are more erotic diversions.

Ranveer Singh gets his act together with great care for details. Each step of his con game is charted carefully with the right physique, body language clothes and accessories. Yup, this actor works hard on getting it right and succeeds. If the highlight in "Band Baajaa Baraat" was the sequence where Ranveer's character blurted out his love for Anushka, here too Ranveer gets the love-confession sequence just right.

Here's an interesting actor who matches his enthusiasm level with a compelling quotient of sensitivity .

Fatally, we never know what motivates Ricky Behl. Why does he do what he does? Is he a benign fan of Shah Rukh Khan over-dosing on the "Baazigar" philosophy of fooling women for money?

If the narrative tends to run through a blind alley quite often it also finds its way into a luminous light often enough to make us feel favourably towards the overall products. The locational details and the character-specifications are done with rare care. The three actresses Parineeti Chopra, Aditi Sharma and Dipannati Sharma playing Ricky's three scorned women slip effortlessly into their roles.

As for Anushka she is a fearless actress, not afraid to let her emotions overrule her makeup. At the end of the film when she dresses up as Santa Claus to smooch Ranveer Singh in shopping mall, there isn't that same feeling of breathless exhilaration we felt when Ranveer and Anushka kissed in their previous film together.

As far as con capers go, "Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl" moves at an engaging pace long enough to qualify as a rom-com which looks and feels right.
