John Abraham believes in sperm donation Posted: 09 Mar 2012 08:07 PM PST Actor John Abraham is now focusing on promoting "Vicky Donor", his first film as producer. The film speaks about sperm donation, which John said he truly believes in. "I completely believe in sperm donation. It's a topic that needs to be addressed, needs to be spoken. There are 50 percent more childless couples so it's a topic that needs to be spoken," John said during the first-look launch of "Vicky Donor" at Cinemax. "I would donate my sperm for a social cause. There are industrialists, police officers, people from army donating sperm because they want to keep their sperm aside because they are not sure whether they will be back from their battle. I would definitely do it," he said. An Eros co-production with John's banner JA Entertainment Production, "Vicky Donor" has been directed by Shoojit Sircar. It stars veejay Ayushyamann Khurrana in his debut role along with Annu Kapoor and Yami Gautam. John said the script demanded fresh faces. "When Shoojit showed me the script, it was very clear the script wanted new faces. His films are brilliant and beautiful. When you see the trailers, you will realise that we have made the best choice by casting them," he said. "When I read the script, I loved it. This was the best opportunity to enjoy being a producer. Besides, I believe in encouraging new talent. Ayushman and Yamini are sitting next to be but tomorrow they might get too busy with their projects. It's always good to encourage new talent," John said. A confident John added: "I promise you as a producer the film will have super entertainment in it." "Vicky Donor" which has the debutantes in the lead will, however, see producer John doing a promotional song for the movie. "There is a song where I will be there, and Bosco and Cezer will be choreographing it," he said. – IANS |
Chitrangada Singh denies having a Twitter account Posted: 09 Mar 2012 05:02 AM PST Well, Poonam Pandey is one starlet who believes in creating buzz not by her work but by her controversial pics and statements. Sure enough, the actress generates somewhat harsh comments from her colleagues and others. After a war of words with Tasleema Nasreen, it was Chitrangada Singh who started it all with her comment on Miss Pandey which read, "How do you compete with Poonam Pandey, when she is ready strip for kabbadi matches?" Poonam, too, responded indirectly to the comment. Now, Chitrangada Singh claims that she does not even have an account on Twitter and it was someone else who was making comments through a fake account. "I have seen her pictures in newspapers and on TV channels. But she is not someone whose life I follow or react to. What angers me is that it's all happening due to a fake Twitter account," she said. "I don't understand why I am being pulled into this. I have no idea what Poonam really does (in life), so I'm shocked," she added. |
Madhuri Dixit unveils her wax replica at Madame Tassauds Posted: 09 Mar 2012 04:57 AM PST There is no denying the fact that Madhuri Dixit, once the reigning queen of Bollywood, stills holds her fans captivated with her million dollar smile. Now, the actress takes pride in being honoured with a wax statue at Madame Tussauds Museum in London. She was there in London on Wednesday with her husband Doctor Nene and two sons for the unveiling of the statue. "I am thrilled to be here in Madame Tussauds unveiling a wax figure of myself. It's incredible just how detailed the figure is – they have captured my look beautifully! I feel very humbled to be included alongside other Bollywood stars and some of my personal heroes," Madhuri said in a statement on the museum's official website. The statue has been made with the hard work of four long months and a cost of about 150,000 pounds. The actress donated her pink saree for draping the statue and she also had sittings with sculptors from the museum in Mumbai a few months back. With this, Madhuri joins the long list of Bollywood stars including the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan who have their wax statues at the museum. |
