Vidya, Farhan to team up for a sequel

Posted: 03 Jun 2012 09:03 PM PDT

The sequel of Pyaar Ke Side Effects (PKSE) is finally happening, but unlike other sequels, it won't star the original cast of Mallika Sherawat and Rahul Bose. Instead, it will have Vidya Balan and Farhan Akhtar. The sequel, titled Shaadi Ke Side Effects (SKSE), will talk about what happens when the characters of Sid and Trisha get married and how their love story goes forward.

Producer Pritish Nandy adds, "SKSE begins where PKSE ends. Except the lead pair, everyone including director Saket Choudhary and music director Pritam remain. SKSE is a funny, clever, wild film full of the fascinating ways love works before and after marriage. PKSE had four songs that became very popular, and the story had very strong connectivity with the audience, so we decided to make a sequel. Unfortunately, it a took a while in writing. Saket is a brilliant director but a slow writer!"

Talking about the unusual casting of Vidya and Farhan, Nandy says, "We make cinema that is big and also intelligent. Farhan is one of the most intelligent actors today. He and Vidya are two of the biggest stars of 2011. It will instantly make my film topical. Both of them loved the script immediately."

Farhan says, "SKSE is a departure from my earlier work as an actor. It's a romantic comedy - a genre I haven't done yet - so it promises to be a new experience. Saket has written a funny yet moving story about simple things that everyone can relate to. Also, I look forward to working with Vidya."

Vidya says, "I loved Pyaar Ke Side Effects, and SKSE is the story of what happens to a man and a woman after they become husband and wife. It begins where every romcom ends. Saket's observation of relationships is simple and that makes it naturally and perhaps sometimes even unintentionally funny, mad and sexy. It's the first time that Farhan and I will be working together. He's so real that everything about our situation in SKSE would seem believable.''

Sunny Leone’s lingerie to go under the hammer

A few years ago, Charlize Theron's sexy corset was picked up for a record price at the Frederick's of Hollywood Third Annual Lingerie Auction. Celebrities such as Keira Knightley, Susan Sarandon and Reese Witherspoon had also lent their designs to the cause. This trend of auctioning lingerie has finally reached India. Actor-turned-director Pooja Bhatt has decided to auction all the costumes of the cast of Jism 2 for a cause.

Says Pooja, who is now shooting in Sri Lanka, "I am auctioning Sunny, Randeep and Arunoday's entire wardrobe down to their underwear for charity. Taking one's clothes off has never been so noble!"

While garments are understandable, why does she want to auction the lingerie? "Why should we have anything against a beautiful lingerie? Hollywood stars auction their lingerie. It's a done thing. There is a huge market for these. Given a chance, I'd love to buy Javier Bardem's undergarments in an auction," says Pooja.

Before the release of her movie in July, Pooja wants to auction all the costumes online. "Life is online nowadays. Each item will be accompanied by an autographed photo of the artist and a certificate of authentication," she signs off.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan celebrated their 39th marriage anniversary Sunday. Big B says it has brought the memories of the their wedding day flooding back.
The couple got married June 3, 1973 and have two children – son Abhishek and daughter Shweta.
"39 years! And just made it to the blog in time to write. A minute more and all the headers would have had to undergo change. Greetings have been exchanged, family has gathered round with wishes…and dear occupy most of the space in the house…Now .. a time to reminisce, to go back and relive those moments, to remember all that transpired," the 69-year-old posted on blog bigb.bigadda.com.
Amitabh says he and Jaya had planned a holiday in London to celebrate "Zanjeer" success, but his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan wanted them to get married before going on the vacation.
" 'Zanjeer' had just released. And Jaya and I and a few dear friends had decided that if the film did well we would all go to London for a holiday. After a few anxious days on the results of the box office, it was time to put our decision 'in line'.
"So I told my parents, who I had now invited to come and live with me, as is the culture in our land, about our decision. And my Father came down heavily on me – 'If you are planning a holiday with this girl, you will have to marry her and go, else your decision is denied.'
"I was an obedient child! I got married the very next day in a quickly organized wedding with family and some dear friends, without any fanfare, and left for the holiday that very night," he further posted.
Big B says that his marriage was not a lengthy affair.
"Marriages and weddings entail great amount of ritual and protocol and decorum and priests and pundits and maulvis. They last for days with great fanfare. Ours was a simple Bengali pundit wedding, exchange of flowered garlands, the mangal sutra, the sindoor and it was all over before the women from Jaya's side could stop their finger in mouth screams of 'odododooooo' … or words to that effect," he added. – IANS
